Love of Hard Work

I was weeding today and Daphney came over to me and said, "Mom, the problem is... [pause] I am going to help you!" It cracked me up yes that would be a problem for all the flowers. But really Daphney has been learning to be a big helper to all around.
Daph has a special relationship with all the barn animals.

Gathering up a wagon of onions with Grandad!

Daph was a slave driver last week insisting that we work in the garden in the heat of the day and in the mud from the rain.

Building The Dream Team

After I had Demitri and the comments started rolling in; "what in the world were you thinking having them close together?- don't you know the two year rule?" I started being a little worried considering there is no chicken out door. And, yes for the most part the comments have been right. It has been the craziest, hardest thing I have ever done, with the addition that I love it. For this pair having them close together could not have worked out better for their personalities. They adore each other and hate to be apart. I can't wait to see what the addition of a new baby will add to our team. They already smother other babies so I know they will love it, but question is how do I protect the helpless infant.

Daphney yelled into the house today... "Demitri, Buddy come outside with me!"
We set up the tent in the house for a family slumber party, because we are wimpy parents who need our twin mattresses. Luckily we did stay inside though because around 2 am it started thundering and pouring rain. Another plus of being indoors is the tent was able to stay up for a whole week which aloud for loads of parties. Here they are watching a movie and eating goldfish with their animal friends that do everything with us.
