Windy Day

The missionaries came over a couple days ago and challenged us to plan to do unplanned service. I told them (with my eyes) that service never works because I am often too excited/ in their face. There is always someone there saying, "freaky girl please I would rather carry this impossible burden then to have you near it."
I am starting to understand their point of view...

PICTURE THIS:

My daughter and I in the middle of the road surrounded by our neighbors trash while she is trying to find some leftovers....

How did I let it get to this point?

Well it is simple... The large trash can lid was blown open by the wind and three pieces of large trash were escaping. Light Bulb! This was a prime opportunity to multi-task by teaching my daughter to serve and to talk about the effects of littering. We crossed the street and simply closed the lid of the trash and proceeded to the three solitary pieces of trash... Turns out when the lid is securely placed onto the trash can that it is unbalanced on the sloping driveway. Consequently when the can fell over, trash  gushed out of the trashcan and shot across the surrounding neighborhood. The road was covered in trash and Daphney and I played frogger with passing by cars as we struggled to chase after the now littered area we had created. Daphney excelled in chasing after the pop cans and trying the variety of flavors our neighbors enjoy (Luckily there was not leftover beer cans). I chased after her and the flying debri until I finally gave up and dragged my child away from the situation we made substantially worse.

Sorry Neighborhood... We will take a break from helping ya'll.

Rocking Horse

Daphney got a wooden rocking horse for Christmas that she cares for as if it were her pet.
Thanks Dad for sharing your amazing talents with my kids!

New Artwork of 2014

Giraffe Painting

So recently I had someone ask me if I had worked on any artwork since Demitri was born, and I responded no. But then I got to thinking about it and decided it was time to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I had to sacrifice a lot of precious time while Daphney was napping to work on this painting.

Daphney did not understand why she
could not sit on it while I took the picture.

We are still saving up some money in order to decorate the kids rooms, so it was so nice to be able to get started on a painting for the nursery. This will go in Demitri's wild animal room along with pictures of him with his Giraffe.

A recent picture of Demitri by Daphney's giant gorilla; not the Giraffe pictures (you will have to scroll back through my blog to see those adorable smiles.) However, I love this picture too because he hardly ever has his tongue out because it is so attached or he is just too classy... And really try smiling with your tongue out it will simply make you happy. :D

Daphney Loves to READ

NEW Milemarker: Self-Entertained by Books!

Thanks to those that have contributed books to our cause :D

Saturday Morning Activity

First Tea Party (with food...)

Step #1: Locate the Spout. CHECK!

Step #2: Aim. CHECKMATE!

Step #3: Practice... (Outside Next Time)

Daphney and I had a great time playing with her little tea set. She kind of hates water so I thought this might be a good way to make drinking water more fun for her.
She did amazingly well with the kix and I think those spoons might become her everyday spoons; they have a great ledge on the sides that keep the food from falling off.
